i know what you did last summer...because i saw it on myspace

Love social networking sites?
Here are a couple of reasons why:

Communication with friends, family, or colleagues has become easier with the development of the web. Instead of meeting in a certain place, classmates can discuss a school activity by all chatting on a site, saving time and effort. People are now connected by common interests, purposes, and goals. People from all over the world can now mingle with just the click of a button.

One of those people who refuses to join a social network site?
Could it be because of the following:

Social networking sites have become likely places for identity theft and fraud. As you have to provide certain information such as your e-mail address, name, and location, it becomes easier for those with bad intentions to easily do wrong by your name. Which brings me to my second point, if someone is pretending to be somebody else, they can make you believe that they are offering a business opportunity, ask to meet up with you, or even take your money. This all makes it a lot easier for someone to stalk or harass you online.
